A world-class performance hall. Multiple art galleries. Subterranean concert venues. Art is a way of life here. Randolph has so much to offer! Here are a few events happening during November.

Do you love discovering new music and meeting new people? Are you a newcomer to the area since 2020? Thinking about moving to VT? Whether you're a long-time Chandler supporter or looking to become one, join us for an exciting social mixer! With support from the Department of Tourism, Chandler invites new residents (those who have moved since 2020) to come together, enjoy delicious food, and connect with friends and neighbors before a fantastic show. It's the perfect opportunity to make new connections and celebrate our community and Chandler Center for the Arts. RSVP. 

Aysanabee w/ special guest: Moonfruits Sat, Nov 2 at 7

November begins with Aysanabee, a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter who recently made history as the first Indigenous artist to win the JUNO Awards for Alternative Album and Songwriter of the Year.

Adding to the festivities, the 2024 Canadian Folk Music Award nominees Moonfruits will perform. Known for their contemporary folk music, Moonfruits is led by Alex Millaire and Kaitlin Milroy, penning songs in both French and English, reflecting their Ottawa roots. Get tickets

Simone Dinnerstein, an American pianist, is known for her unique musical style. The Washington Post praised her as “an artist of strikingly original ideas and irrefutable integrity.” She gained fame in 2007 with her recording of Bach’s Goldberg Variations, blending a deep respect for the score with her own personal touch. The New York Times highlighted her as “a unique voice in the forest of Bach interpretation.” Get tickets

Join the community for The Herald's 150th Anniversary on November 16th at Chandler. Enjoy live music from Ali T, Bow Thayer, Krishna Guthrie, and the Randolph Singers. Local actors will share historical stories. There will be a canapé buffet, homemade desserts, and drinks from Fable Farm, with sparkling water and a cash bar for beer and wine. Tickets are $15 and include appetizers, desserts, and non-alcoholic drinks. All proceeds support The Herald's future. Don't miss this evening of music, history, and community spirit! Get tickets.

Quill and Foyle’s Hasty Composure - A Free Family Show. This new and original all ages show, sponsored by a creation grant from The Vermont Arts Council, pairs No Strings Marionette Company with composer Paul Perley. Marionettes, scenery, and musical compositions uniquely created to tell the tale of twins Quill and Foyle, who are about to set out to learn their life purpose. 45-minute show, followed by a demonstration, Q&A, and meet and greet with the composer, puppeteers, musicians, and puppets.

Galleries and Exhibits - New Shows

People's Gallery - "Vermont & Normandy" by artist Lelonie Oatway, Opening Reception Celebration on Nov 9 from 1 to 8

Join Lelonie for her first art exhibition, featuring poetry and live readings by Steve Augustus (Dak Gustal). All artworks will be available for purchase. Wine, soft drinks, and hors d'oeuvres will be served throughout the day on Nov 9th until 8. 

 Lelonie Weaver Oatway, a full-time artist at Un Mur Studio, specializes in landscapes and surrealism. Her work, inspired by Vermont and Normandy's colors and textures, blends regional beauty with imaginative elements.

People’s Gallery is now in its second year as an art cooperative in Randolph!  Visit on Fridays from 4 to 8, weekends from 11  to 3, or by appointment. To schedule a visit, call 802-505-0353. 

Galleries & Exhibits - Ongoing Shows

A juxtaposition is an act or instance of placing two elements close together or side by side to compare the two. The artists in this show have various objects with opportunities to have contrasting concepts in parallel structures. The matching of objects alters or adds to the original meaning of those concepts and reveals surprising relationships. Explore for yourself - collage, uncollage, assemblage, textiles, installations, prints, and stamps. Don't miss ART etc's current exhibit! Andrea is excited to showcase a new exhibit featuring the works of three talented artists: Gary Eckhart, Roarke Sharlow,  and Tyler GatelyGary’s stunning watercolors and Roarke’s digital images capture the timeless beauty of Vermont’s barns and farmland, evoking nostalgia and celebrating Vermont's evolving landscape. Additionally, Tyler Gately’s "Aviart," is a unique blend of painting and Army Aviation.

Third Branch Pottery offers a range of pottery classes and opportunities for all skill levels in November. The Kid's Studio provides a space for school-aged children to explore clay in 4-week sessions, following the local school calendar. Their "You & Me" classes are designed to create pottery with a special person in your life. Sunday Morning 6 Week Adult Wheel Class starts on 11/3. Thursday Night 6 Week Adult Hand-Building Class begins on 11/7. 

For more personalized instruction, private lessons offer one-on-one support to help you improve your skills on the wheel or learn about throwing before committing to a full class series.  Join Vincent Friday night; it's Party Time! Come dance at The Underground to the Throwback Hits spun by DJ Sound Syndicate X with DJ Bay 6.

Discover the sounds of Shy Husky and Granite Garden at The Underground. Shy combines 90’s alt-rock with modern pop-infused vocals.  Based in VT and NH, they are a local music scene staple. Granite Garden fuses grunge, folk, and jazz, led by Cameron Silliman and Seamus Good, to create a theatrical and heartfelt sound. Known for their engaging live performances, this eclectic group is a must-see on stage.

Both bands bring distinct flavors to the music scene, making them standout acts not to be missed.

Dead Street Dreamers is a punk band based in VT. They write songs about injustice, rebellion, and love, drawing inspiration from The Stooges and Black Flag. Mr. Doubtfire is a pop-punk band from Burlington, known for their economic shows and good times. Vallory Falls is a pop-punk emo band from Western VT that sings about loss, love, and resilience. From NY is Mystery Girl, known for playing power pop/glam

HIFI is a music group inspired by old-school house music. With DJ Fidelma Wyse, Jofus on bass, and Phil Carr on drums, they create a unique sound. Fidelma brings a London rave flavor with original tracks, while Jofus and Phil's long-time teamwork completes the vibe. HIFI offers an immersive musical experience for those who love to dance.
