Ethan Setiawan and Fine Ground

Friday Mar 14th 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
@ Chandler Center for the Arts - 71 N Main St

Ethan Setiawan & Fine Ground is visually a bluegrass band. Born of a yearning to return to bluegrass roots, Fine Ground takes time-honored traditions and imbues them with original tunes and exceptional songwriting.

The band includes Berklee College of Music grad Setiawan on mandolin, BB Bowness on banjo, Julian Pinelli on fiddle, Alex Rubin on guitar, and Brittany Karlson on bass. Setiawan has won both the National Mandolin Championship and the Rockygrass Mandolin Championship. On his 2023 album "Gambit", which was produced by legendary fiddle player Darol Anger, he moves aptly between stylistic influences, harkening back to the experimental string band music pioneered in the early 80s while presenting entirely original compositions.

Carton:
“Carton possess that true spirit of alternative rock, the kind that maintains heaviness and weirdness without sounding like the thousands of faceless bands that all but ruined the genre more than a decade ago. They have dynamics, they have chops and, best of all, they have the songs.” - Chris Farnsworth, Seven Days

@ Chandler Center for the Arts - 71 N Main St • Randolph

Join us this Saturday to bid farewell to the Smithsonian Museum's "Crossroads" exhibit, which leaves next week for the next stop on its national tour.

One section of this comprehensive exhibit focuses on the today's crossroads for the people and environment of Vermont, which is told uniquely by artists whose voices are shaped by the past but looking forward    ...
