MaMuse

Wednesday Sep 3rd 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm
@ Chandler Center for the Arts
Categories: Music

Join MaMuse for an evening of harmony-rich folk-soul that uplifts the spirit and opens the heart. Expect unreleased songs from their upcoming album, beloved favorites, and an audience-inspired improv.

Returning to Randolph, MaMuse (“Ma” as in Mamma; “Muse” as in inspiration) blends folk and gospel traditions with luminous harmonies and heartfelt lyrics. Sorah Nutting and Karisha Longaker perform on upright bass, guitar, mandolins, and flutes, joined by their band, creating a lush and soulful sound.

With five albums and seventeen years of co-creation, MaMuse continues to share music for the thriving of ALL BEINGS. Their performances are described as “vocal bliss” (Dan DeWayne, California WorldFest)—an experience as moving as it is nourishing.

Upper Valley Baroque presents Handel's Messiah

Saturday Sep 20th 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm
@ Chandler Music Hall - 71 N Main Steet, Randolph, VT 05060

The three year-old, widely-acclaimed Upper Valley Baroque ensemble will present Handel’s complete Messiah on Saturday, September 20th at 3 PM, at Chandler Center for the Arts in Randolph.

This beloved masterwork is seldom heard in complete form in one presentation. Handel’s keen sense of theater is on abundant display, with gorgeous arias performed by over a dozen vocal soloists alternating with virtuosic and dramatic choruses, all accompanied on period instruments and conducted by Artistic Director Filippo Ciabatti.

The concert will be followed by a complimentary reception, featuring homemade treats and a chance to meet and greet the artists.

Tickets are available on the UVB website, or by calling (203) 240-1164, or at the door.
