DA Mekonnen's experimental jazz project dragonchild presents the Vermont debut of "BLACK": an immersive, multimedia spatial sound performance.

Conceived & transmitted by DA Mekonnen (founder of Debo Band), dragonchild draws on decades of musical experimentation, embodied spiritual practice, & critical thinking—culminating in their debut work, BLACK. In this innovative listening experience, four one-sided vinyl records will be played simultaneously to create an
immersive swarm of sound using an eight-speaker playback system.

The Randolph Singers present Songs of Nature and Nurture, a choral program exploring the beauty, growth, and interconnectedness of the natural world. Under the direction of Music Director Christopher McWilliams, and with accompaniment by pianist Susan Montgomery-Grout, the concert features Three Nature Songs, original compositions by McWilliams set to poetry by William Blake, Emily Dickinson, and Francis Gupta.

The program also includes “The Garden Song” by Dave Mallet (arr. Mac Huff), “Rosmarin” from Six Secular Songs by Johannes Brahms, “The Evening Primrose” from Five Flower Songs by Benjamin Britten, and “For the Beauty of the Earth” by John Rutter. Selections from contemporary and popular repertoire round out the performance, including “For Good”   ...

Chandler Center for the Arts is excited to announce this year’s The Next Generation concert. On Saturday evening, May 16, five young classical musicians from high schools and homeschools across Vermont and New Hampshire will showcase their artistry, with some making their debuts on the Chandler stage. The concert begins at 7:00 PM and will also feature an ensemble performance with 16 students from the Upper Valley Music Center. A reception to greet the artists will follow the performance.
